Frequently asked questions
We offer help across a wide range of subjects and skills! After signing up, students take a full-length practice test to help us create a personalized learning plan. As sessions progress, we’ll use additional practice tests to reassess and adjust the plan as needed. Plus, every student gets access to an online dashboard to track homework, tests, and progress. Parents and tutors can also view this dashboard to stay in sync.
Once you sign up for sessions, we’ll reach out to you by phone or email to get everything set up. We aim to be as quick as possible—often arranging the first session within a day or two. Need it sooner? Same-day appointments might be available! Feel free to call us at 650-283-6323 to speed things up.
Well, we wouldn't have the reputation we do if that happened a lot! But... if for any reason you're unhappy after the first session with your tutor, we will be happy to provide an hour free of charge with a new tutor. Though all of our tutors are rigorously screened and highly qualified, it is possible (though rare) for there to be a poor match of personalities / tutoring needs. If this arises, we would be happy to find a more suitable match. However, it would be the second hour that is free of charge rather than the first.
Our policy depends on how much notice you provide. If you let us know at least 48 hours in advance, we can reschedule or cancel your session without any charge. For notices between 3 and 48 hours before the session, you’ll be charged for half the scheduled time. Cancellations within 3 hours are considered no-shows and will be charged in full. Of course, exceptions can be made for serious illness or other significant circumstances.
